This collection features a final collection of my 3 favourite card magic effects.

In this volume, you will find some challenging card effects, which require intermediate skill in sleight of hand. As before, I include a mixture of plots and I cherished these routines all over the years in my career as a close-up cardician.  

You will discover all the three effects in this collection are impromptu card magic. For over the years, I really appreciate the impact of impromptu card magic as you need not to worry when someone comes to you and say, “Please show me a card trick”. There you go; you can perform the magic straight away without the need to worry any gimmicks.

If you like card sandwich, “Instant BandIt” may be one of your favourites as this item is based on my previous release and in this version; there is no Modified Stanyon Count Switch. “Invisible Entities” is an effect where great presentation and patter are come into play. If you have what it takes, I am sure your audience will be entertained with this very simple, yet direct effect.

For the final piece, “The Paradox Spades” is one of my pet routines. I will let you to discover this on your own and this item has been in my repertoire for many years until today I am still using it in my performance.

My Confession...

Ever since I got my first job this year, writing card magic eBook seems very rare to me, let alone practising card magic at home. I hope with the upcoming public holidays, I would be able to get back on track again with a deck of playing cards in my hand.

For those of you who have been following up my blog closely, you may aware that one of my biggest projects would be publishing a hardback card magic book. I really appreciate those fans out there that signed up for my mailing lists as they have shown their interests as well as their supports in my project. However, since I could not cope up with the costs of production, I have to put the project on hold until the time is right for me to publish the book. I sincerely hope that my first hardback card magic book would be available on sales next year.

Just to make an announcement that I will contribute a new card magic effect of mine to one of my friends in card magic soon. I am still in the process of deciding whether to contribute one or two unpublished card effects and the eBook is expected to be available this year. 

I will keep this thread posted once I finalised everything.

Metabolism in Card Magic II

This collection features a further collection of 3 favourite card magic effects. As before, in this collection, you will find a mixture of plots and these routines have been in my repertoire for quite some time for my close-up act.  

In this volume, you will find that the material is much easier to do compare to my previous volume. The reason is because the material features in this volume focus on presentation with very minimal sleights.

There are two impromptu card magic effects; “Jacketeers” and “Camouflage”, which serve as my all-time favourite openers. If a spectator were to ask me to show a trick, these are one of the items that I will actually perform.

If you like to fry your audience, try “Jokers on the Wild Side” which is the third effect in this eBook. However, you need to have a double backer for this routine. This is a nice routine where you hand out the signed card as souvenirs. Your audience will witness the Joker miraculously go through a series of magical changes right in front of their very eyes.

Metabolism in Card Magic

This collection features 3 of my favourite card magic effects. 

The material features my personal repertoire card magic that constitutes a body of work that dates back to 2010. 

As always, most of the effects are not very difficult to do if you consider yourself as an intermediate cardician. If you like impromptu card magic, try “Double the Impact”, which is a lovely card transposition between two spectators’ selections. In addition, I include a bonus idea as well which I usually use it to end the famous “Ambitious Card Routine”. 

If you like something extraordinary, try “Molecule Splitter” and you will have an interesting chemistry lesson that to be shared with your audience. For this item, you need to have 3 blank facers. Everything can be given out for examination.

If you like to surprise your audience with a signed card, try “A Magical Encounter” and I am sure your audience will enjoy it. However, this routine requires you to have a LePaul Wallet to end the routine with an impact that will leave your audience speechless.

My Reflections

"My Reflections" eBook is available now featuring 10 of my personal repertoire card magic. 

The material ranges from variations on classic routines and with the objective of delivering entertaining card magic to your audience. The routines explained in this work are all audience tested. They constitute a body of work that dates back to 2006 and there are a number of new items included as well. 

The book is divided into 3 sections; Simple Effects, Impromptu Effects and Effect with Set-Up Cards. It is structured that way for ease of referring to a particular routine.

My Review - Cheque This!

Recently, I had my wonderful time in going through Cameron Francis' latest "Cheque This!" pdf. Judging its title, you may think that perhaps the author has come up a magic routine that has something to do with cheques or money magic. Believe it or not, this is a wonderful card routine that I look forward performing for my next gathering with the use of a single cheque. 

Of course, the above is not just merely a card magic routine with a cheque but I should say it's a complete wonderful routine. At first, when I watched the complete performance, this reminds me of the "Bill in Lemon" routine. Obviously, this routine has a difference in terms of incorporating card magic to enhance the overall effect with the use of the single cheque. 

In addition to the above props, of course you need an "extra" something that most magicians have in their arsenal. The author also explains how to use that certain something to do a very magical transformation on the bill. Let's start off by reviewing what's the contents in the pdf.

The pdf contains 7 pages and I really like the author covers every nuances in terms of the handling in the video clips that can be accessed at Vimeo. Of course, there is a password you need in order to access those instructional clips. The pdf is well laid out and there is a template section where you can print out the cheque to incorporate into the routine. Lastly, there is a bonus section where the author explains a bonus revelation that is the very well known "1089 Force". This is actually an extension to the above routine and it's optional to include this in the performance. 

In a nutshell, I really enjoyed everything as laid out and explained by the author in the pdf. If you are like me, who always do not like to do set up or having a mess with the lemon juice (Bill in Lemon) during your act, you may like to give this routine a try as I can see there is a lot of magical happenings and I think your audience will enjoy such magic routine. In addition, you may carry this mini miracle in your pocket which takes a very little of space and perform wonders in no time.

Colour Flight

This is a mini card effect that I usually carry around in my card wallet and I regard this effect as my pet routine. This effect can be done using normal cards and can be handed out for examination after the performance. 

If you like a packet card effect that has a connection with a lesson in gambling, this is the card effect that you are looking for. Basically, in performance, you show two packets of cards, you place one of the packets onto the table and magically, one at a time, the cards transpose with the other. While the spectators are busy looking onto the cards, you nail them with an unexpected revelation; that is the Jokers have different contrasting backs! 

Best of all, as I mentioned earlier, everything can be handed out for examination. Also included a bonus handling for those who like the "phantom" theme.
