Flushback
Card revelation is one of the most magical ways in revealing a spectator's selection. It is one of my favourite plots in card magic. "Flushback" is my take on card revelation plot with a magical twist. This routine does not involve any gaffs or special cards. A spectator is asked to involve in cutting the deck in an attempt to cut to her selection. However, her attempts fail in the process.

This is one of my closely guarded secrets that I release for this year and I can attest the effect would be able to garner huge reaction from lay audience. I always believe that it is how well the magic effect plays but not on the methods.
In addition, I also provide a bonus handling that enhances the revelation on revealing the spectator's selection in a much dramatic manner. Make sure you do not miss this wonderful card routine that is highly practical, usable and the most important of all, it is highly entertaining. Let your audience experience the magic that is enjoyable to watch and memorable.

Thoughts that Count
“Thoughts that Count” is based on my work on card mentalist effect where a spectator is asked to remember a card and you reveal her thought selection without asking any single question.
This is a cool little routine that you can do without the need to set up the packet and it is impromptu. There is a bonus routine that deals with two thought selections.
The routine is very flexible as it can be done for table-hopping situation or to be surrounded by a group of spectators and the like. There is no gimmick or special card involved. In fact, you can let you spectators to remove whatever cards randomly from the pack and it does not limit to certain cards in the process.
Do not miss this wonderful thought-of-cards routine and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I do.
"Andrew Loh Shang Hai is a very clever magician! His effect, Thoughts That Count combines his brilliant handling of a couple of well-known magic principles to produce a routine that smoothly combines mentalism with magic! Your spectators get the 'best of both worlds' in this routine and it is easy to do. This is one of those routines that will leave your spectators with their mouths wide open! Better yet, Andrew provides you with a bonus routine - Thoughts That Count - Plus which allows the performer to read the thoughts of two spectators!"

The Spirit Cards
“The Spirit Cards” is an entertaining card routine culled directly from my working repertoire. This is an audience-tested card routine that I have been performing for many years and it is one of my favourites. I received wonderful feedback both from my circle of friends as well as lay audiences.

A card is freely selected and lost in the pack. You summon the ghost cards (blank cards) as a resort to locate the spectator’s selection in an amazing manner along with a bizarre revelation at the end of the routine. The revelation here is an interesting one as one of the ghost cards vanishes and it goes into the pack to find the spectator’s selection.
The best part is, the cards can be handed out for examination and the magic takes place in the spectators’ own hand. I always believe that this kind of magic has its own merit where the spectator involves and feels the magic takes place in her own hand. They can examine the entire pack and there is nothing to find.
I believe you will have lots of fun in performing this card routine as much as I do for years.
Here's what a few of them say:
"I LOVE Spirit Cards! What a great, commercial routine! Congratulations!"
-- Cameron Francis
"One more strong routine from Andrew Loh. An easy to do trick with an easy to follow plot. Perfect choice for professionals who work for lay people."
-- József Kovács
"The Spirit Cards is a performer's dream! I performed it at a corporate function the day after I received it and my spectators were elated! After the trick appears to be over, you then "floor 'em" with an even stronger kicker! Highly Recommended!"

The Hand is Quicker than the Eyes
I am very excited to announce that "The Hand is Quicker than the Eyes" is available now after a long battle with my busy work schedule.

This eBook is only available exclusively at my online card magic shop. Having said that, this e-book is not suitable for beginners. While all the moves are explained clearly but some previous card handling experience is preferable.

The Hand is Quicker than the Eyes
I am very excited to announce that very soon, I am going to complete my favourite card fusion routine and release as an eBook.

You remark that all over the years, you prove that whether the magicians' favourite quote "the hand is quicker than the eyes" really proves its effectiveness or otherwise. You demonstrate the phenomenon in which the spectators will look very closely on your hand while performing this little miracle.
In spite of the spectators really look closely in terms of what you do and perform this miracle as slow as you could, you manage to deliver them a huge wave of surprise; that is their signed cards are now fused together. Best of all, you may hand out the card for a thorough examination or simply give them as a souvenir.
The routine is perfect for walkaround situation and is great for breaking the ice especially if you perform this as your opener for close-up performance. I have been performing this routine for quite some time now and I think it is time for me to share it with the magic fraternity. I really, really enjoy the reaction from the audience when I perform this routine that is well received over the years.

New Card Magic PDF and Promotion
It has been quite some time since the last I updated this blog. I was terribly busy with my work schedule and am glad that I am back on track.
I am very excited to share with you that there would be a new eBook coming soon, which you will find a huge collections of magic effects from excellent contributors and including myself. However, the released date still remains unknown but I am very certain it will available for the next few days.
I contributed two card effects and one of them was published in my "Miracle Hands on Deck" series. It's a two-packet transposition effect that looks impossible and magical. Don't miss those series as you will find some of the gems in there. The other effect is my unpublished item that you need to check out especially for those who love gambling theme; this might be your favourite item and you will fry your audience out from the blue.
As a bonus, once this book is available and if you purchase the pdf directly from me, I would be happy to send you a pdf (below $10 value) for FREE! Just choose and quote the name of the eBook of your choice and send me the list through email.
Well, that's it! I hope you will drop by my blog again as I will announce my next card magic eBooks to be released very soon.
Thanks for reading.

The Magnificent Queens
“The Magnificent Queens” is regarded as one of my favourite pet routines that have been with me over the last 8 years. It is easy to do as there is no card sleight involved and very entertaining. Did I mention there is no gimmick at all?

Some magicians may call this kind of routine as self-working but I would rather regard it as effortless card magic. As a bonus, I also provide a handling where you cause the whole deck to turn blanks and best of all, the whole deck can be given out for a thorough examination.
Available at: http://www.cardicianden.com
Here's what a few of them say:
"This is a very direct effect and has multiple moments of magic combined with a simple procedure. I am sure this will garner lots of very good reviews."
-- David Gemmell
"What is great about the effect is the number of free choices that the spectator gets to make. If the performer reminds the spectator of all of these choices as the effect goes along, the climax will absolutely floor them. The ffect was clearly explained with wonderful diagrams and the little set up is easy and can be done on the fly. Overall, this is a great effect and I would recommend to one and all."
-- Andrew Galanter
"As I like semi-automatic tricks and tricks and ebooks produced and published by Andrew Loh. I read Andrew’s ’The Maginificent Queens’ with high expectations. I wasn’t disappointed after reading the trick: it became one of my favourites Andrew Loh-trick. The trick is very easy to do: you need to do only one ’move’. The spectator finds her own selection and finds a four of a kind. Andrew also shares a terrific variation in the end notes. You should try it out!"
-- József Kovács
"This is a BEAUTIFULLY constructed routine! I love it. I have about 30 or so tabled magic to do tonight for some friends birthday party and I'm going to do your trick for them! I love the blank deck idea, too. It really does add an element of impossibility for the laity, that's the way I'm gonna do it for these guys. I love the work/reward ratio in your effort here, Andy. You have basically zero work needed for a deep, deep, fooler. The Queens come as a complete surprise, this is a really well constructed fooler."

Triple Charms
This eBook features 3 of my favourite personal impromptu miracles that culled directly from my working repertoire.
In this collection, you will find popular effects such as card sandwich, Hofzinser Ace Problem and a signed card transposes magically between cards that is ideal to perform for couples.
The material in this collection is not very difficult to do with the exception that the card sandwich routine may require only a little dexterity in executing the card control.

The material in this collection is not very difficult to do with the exception that the card sandwich routine may require only a little dexterity in executing the card control.
However, please note that for the card sandwich features in this eBook, I presume you are familiar with the Neil Elias's "Multiple Shift" as there is no explanation included.
CONTENTS & EFFECTS
A Sign of Time: This effect is ideal to perform for couples. A kiss card (signed) magically transposes under impossible condition and everything can be left for examination.
Astral Projection: Four Kings are removed and placed onto the table. A card is selected and it's placed under the spectator's covered palm. The performer casts a magical gesture and one of the Kings changes places. The performer has the spectator's selection and the King that matches the spectator's selection (suit) is now under the spectator's palm.
One Cut Sandwich: One of the fastest card sandwich that you could do with the use of Neil Elias's "Multiple Shift" that is very direct and magical.
Available at: http://www.cardicianden.com
Here's what a few of them say:
"I really love your 'A Sign Of Time' and 'Astral Projection' tricks. The plot is so beautiful in 'Sign Of Time'! I think that all its readers will put it in their repertoire immediately. And one more thing which could be very important, very easy to do. Ideal trick for a couple. I think that 'Astral Projection' is a nice solution of the Hofzinser's Four Ace Problem. I like that the magic happens in the spectator's hand."
-- József Kovács
"I just got done reading Triple Charms and it's very good! I really enjoyed the effects. Solid, simple methods and very strong effects! Well done!"

Metabolism in Card Magic
This collection features 3 of my favourite card magic effects.
The material features my personal repertoire card magic that constitutes a body of work that dates back to 2010.

As always, most of the effects are not very difficult to do if you consider yourself as an intermediate cardician. If you like impromptu card magic, try “Double the Impact”, which is a lovely card transposition between two spectators’ selections. In addition, I include a bonus idea as well which I usually use it to end the famous “Ambitious Card Routine”.
If you like something extraordinary, try “Molecule Splitter” and you will have an interesting chemistry lesson that to be shared with your audience. For this item, you need to have 3 blank facers. Everything can be given out for examination.
If you like to surprise your audience with a signed card, try “A Magical Encounter” and I am sure your audience will enjoy it. However, this routine requires you to have a LePaul Wallet to end the routine with an impact that will leave your audience speechless.
Here's what a few of them say:
"Good stuff! Elegantly constructed routines as always."
-- Cameron Francis
"I really enjoyed the material. This series of books could be your strongest yet. I look forward to a 4th in the series!"
-- Peter Duffie

"My Reflections" eBook is available now featuring 10 of my personal repertoire card magic.

The book is divided into 3 sections; Simple Effects, Impromptu Effects and Effect with Set-Up Cards. It is structured that way for ease of referring to a particular routine.
I sincerely hope you will find something to share with your audience and enjoy the routines as much as I do for years.
Here's what a few of them say:

"I have read the book and liked it. My personal favourites are Royal Mates, Divide & Concure, The Hackers, Cannibals Journey and Clandestine Twister. As I like simple and powerful magic, I think the two tricks in the Simple Effects chapter are especially great. The layout of the book is beautiful as always. Colour Flight
This is a mini card effect that I usually carry around in my card wallet and I regard this effect as my pet routine. This effect can be done using normal cards and can be handed out for examination after the performance.
If you like a packet card effect that has a connection with a lesson in gambling, this is the card effect that you are looking for. Basically, in performance, you show two packets of cards, you place one of the packets onto the table and magically, one at a time, the cards transpose with the other. While the spectators are busy looking onto the cards, you nail them with an unexpected revelation; that is the Jokers have different contrasting backs!

Best of all, as I mentioned earlier, everything can be handed out for examination. Also included a bonus handling for those who like the "phantom" theme.
Here's what a few of them say:
"Great routine, Andrew! The two additional effects are equally good. I particularly like The Messengers. Words and letters on cards always play well. This one is excellent."

Mix Up & Match
In the year of 2006, while I was shopping, I discovered unique rubber bands that have various shapes in them such as fruits, vegetables, animals and others.

In this version, this routine has two phases and involves two spectators. Basically, it involves a prediction and your spectators will not realise until they come to the final revelation. Best of all, everything can be given out for examination. In addition, it instantly resets. You may carry this little effect in your pocket which it does not take up a lot of space. You can perform this effect at anytime and anywhere.
I have been performing this little gem ever since I came up with it. I regard this item as one of my pet routines. This routine is very flexible and the prediction can be changed from time to time.
Comes complete with 20 Bicycle cards, 5 high quality silicone rubber bands and an instruction sheet.

Oil & Royal Flush
"Oil & Royal Flush" is one of my pet routines that I perform regularly in my close-up performance.
If you like Roy Walton's "Oil & Queens", perhaps you will like my handling for this wonderful plot. I should say that this version is an extension to the original routine.

I designed this particular routine by incorporating the elements of surprise along with a double climax that the spectator will not realise until to the end of the routine.
Your audience will witness one of the cards changes its colour and concludes the unexpected revelation. The good news is that this routine is not very difficult to do. If you are familiar with the Hamman Count and the Elmsley Count, you will entertain your audience in no time with this entertaining routine.

A Blissful Marriage
This routine is inspired by Hofzinser's Royal Marriages plot. It is a three-phase routine coupled with other interesting plots.

I realised that the audience feels bored after many attempts of showing the splitting and matching of the packets. In addition, I also realised that too many phases actually cluttered the mind of the audience. So, I narrowed down this routine to three phases that is much easier to comprehend and follow.
Last but not least, this is not a very difficult routine and if you are familiar with the Elmsley Count, you should have no problem in performing this routine.
Here's what a few of them say:
"A Blissful Marriage is an excellent routine. The three phases work very well and build up, both logically, and magically. I love Royal Marriages effects, but only good ones - and this is indeed a good one!"
-- Peter Duffie
"Thanks a lot for the new effect. I love it. It is a very nice variation on the theme. You tied the phases together organically and made an entertaining routine from them. A powerful starting followed by two very strong phases."
-- József Kovács
"I had a chance to look check this out today and really loved it. You've really put together a great routine with some really clever phases. I must admit that I've never been one for the royal marriages plot, but your approach is definitely something I could see myself using! Great stuff as usual!"

My Upcoming eBook - My Reflections
Andrew Loh introduces you to ten of his most cherished effects direct from his working repertoire.

The book is divided into 3 sections; Simple Effects, Impromptu Effects and Effect with Set-Up Cards. It is structured that way for ease of referring to a particular routine.
I sincerely hope you will find something to share with your audience and enjoy the routines as much as I do for years.
CONTENTS & EFFECTS
Royal Mates: An effortless four-of-a-kind production that you will use. Simple, direct and very magical! You will use this in less than two minutes as soon as you read it!
Divide & Concur: This is an amazing two-phase card revelation routine where the work is done by the spectator. There are no difficult sleights involved. In addition, it is so unfair that you devastate your audience in silence.
The Hackers: A story based on cyber intrusion. Two spectators are given an opportunity in witnessing how the Jacks hack certain information on the cards as input by one of the spectators. Be prepared for an unexpected outcome! This serves as a good lesson in "Pasteboard Intrusion" and additional ideas are included as well!
The Proactive Jacks: Perform a card sandwich routine that emphasises on the pro-activeness of the Jacks!
Sandwich in My Pocket: A three-selection card sandwich routine that fries! Three Jacks visually vanish and find the two selections in an amazing manner.
Hofzinser Meets Balducci: A revisit to the classics. As the title says it all, this routine can be done in an impromptu situation and if you are lucky, you may end this routine with another climax that they will never see it coming!
A Double Journey: An amazing and visual two-phase two-packet card transposition effect.
Cannibals Journey: This is an unusual Cannibal Cards routine where the cannibals devour the missionaries. One of the missionaries hypnotises the rest of the cannibals until an unexpected event takes place!
Clandestine Twister: This routine is a combination on Dai Vernon's "Twisting the Aces" with a card revelation. I presume you are familiar with the original routine before attempting this routine.
The Intuitive Couples: The Kings and Queens work together in locating the spectator's selection in a very magical way. Two minds work at its best.
I sincerely hope you will find something to share with your audience and enjoy the routines as much as I do for years.

Do As Chameleon Do
I remember fondly the first time I learned the Do-As-I-Do effect in a beginner card magic book since I was 9 years old. I was very excited at that time because I feel the routine plays well to any lay audience.

I really enjoyed the effect as audience participation is of paramount importance in the routine. This routine is not limited only to a few spectators. I have performed this routine for a number of years.
I realised that the more people that are involved, the better it will look. And as it gets interesting it will seem more and more comical to the audience watching and those participating. At the end, somehow the spectators manage to follow exactly the instructions given by the performer with an exception when one of the cards is turned over, it has an odd back! Did I say both the magician and the spectator exchange each of their own packets in between the phases?
Here's what a few of them say:
"Do As Chameleon Do is a great audience-participation effect. I particularly like the odd back ending. Gives it a great kick."
-- Peter Duffie
"I like the Do As I Do theme and I think that your packet version is very amazing. The climax is very strong for the spectators because they handle the cards!"
"The "Do as Chameleon Do" effect was awesome, very neat handling and a great finish; I'll definitely be using it."

"These are two very strong effects. The "Do As Chameleon Do" is really unique and interesting. Very cool trick. I also love "Majestic Jokers". Lots of magic going on. Really fun. Andrew has once again stared two powerful and effective routines with us!"

Do As Chameleon Do is great with a surprising twist. Good thinking!
